Suzanne Gardner/Gareth Mapp work achievements include:

  • Central role in the development of BHF Exercise on Referral toolkit
  • Audit of the Exercise Referral Schemes in the West Midlands Region for the Department of Health West Midlands and PAN-WM
  • Involvement in the development of a number of successful funding bids that have to date drawn in excess of £10 million into sport, physical activity and public health agendas.
  • The development of the Physical Activity Network in the West Midlands (PAN-WM) to support organisations in increasing participation in physical activity and sport. The Network currently has in excess of 150 corporate and individual members and is nationally recognised.
  • The successful development, management and delivery of 12 Regional Conferences and seminars, a major national conference and a number of CPD training sessions to support the physical activity agenda in the West Midlands.
  • Successful Management and delivery of numerous physical activity programmes
  • Successfully designed and delivered several innovative physical activity developments programmes
  • The development of a number of successful physical activity, sport and health programmes in communities, including the health inequalities programme in Cambridge that secured the Sport England East regions award for Social Inclusion in 2002.
  • Led the writing of the 2012 Health and Physical Activity Legacy Plan for the West Midlands and the Culture and Health chapter of the West Midlands Health and Well Being Strategy.
  • Led the writing of the Health and Physical activity elements of Regional Sport Strategy
  • Led and supported the Health engagement with County Sports Partnerships and National Governing Bodies
  • Led regional and national influencing of Department of Health re. Sport and Physical Activity funding, working with National partnerships and agencies.
  • Led the regional engagement of Health with sport and physical activity
  • Successfully delivered three regional audits of physical activity
  • Sport England’s National Web based resources for supporting Strategic Health Authorities to prioritise physical activity and sport.
